Helical piles are engineered and CCMC approved steel structural ground anchor systems with welded flights. Helical piles can be used for foundation or tie-back support systems. The pile will be installed to an appropriate depth that meets the torque/load requirements that have been pre-established by engineers based off the Building Code.
Micro-pile is a term used to encompass a number of smaller (mini) diameter piles. Micro piles are used in variety of situations including projects with space confinements, decks and docks, solar arrays and terrain that requires rock drilling. Any structural work done with micro piles will be done in coordination with engineers to ensure the safety and stability of the structure.
If the project requires increased depth and loads to resist uplift, Terra Torque has the equipment and capabilities to install a variety of soil anchor systems including tie-backs and rakers. This is done working off approved drawings and constant monitoring of load demands to ensure all Geostructural requirements are obtained.
Terra Torque provides solar testing and installation. Solar testing involves lateral and/or axial pull tests to determine the type and length of pile required for the specific solar array. We can work on any project from large scale to small residential setups.
One of the things that sets Terra Torque apart is the capacity to rock drill. Rock drilling is often a necessity within rocky terrains such as the Canadian Shield. If rock is hit, it is not often easy to deviate away from it and rock drilling allows Terra Torque to build in any terrain with our down the hole hammer. Once the hole is pre-drilled, the pile will be installed through the rock to the engineered specifications. If you are concerned your project may hit rock, ensure the company you select has the ability to rock drill to prevent unnecessary delays.
Terra Torque has the ability to complete solar testing as well as compression pile load testing utilizing ASTM-D1143 Standard Test Methods in conjunction with a licensed engineer. Testing will be completed and a report will be produced in accordance with applicable guidelines.
